The Giocosa Foundation was established in 1988 as an alternative to long-term institutional care for emotionally disturbed youth
and adolescents. Our original intent was to provide a non-institutional environment for children with significant emotional and
behavioral deficits. The agency has since expanded its services to include basic and therapeutic foster care as well as
adoption services. We are licensed by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services and also
partner with Travis County Juvenile Probation Department.
Our agency serves youth ages 0 – 18 of all ethnicities, genders and backgrounds. We are a non-profit organization and have families
and offices in the Houston and Austin areas. Our mission is to match children with loving and nurturing families so they may form
mutually satisfying and healthy relationships.
Giocosa is derived from the Italian word meaning "The place where happiness dwells." If you have a happy home to share with a child,
